Zugot Moi

Origins of the Abyssal Serpent

Before the first battles of the Blood War, before the Nine Hells and the Abyss carved their eternal scars across creation, there was Zugot Moi. Born not of natural chaos, but of blasphemy, she was woven together from fragments of primordial nightmares and the malice of an ancient cult. Where other demons embody singular vices, Zugot Moi embodies hunger itself—an insatiable maw that devours light, faith, and even hope. Her form reflects her truth: a serpentine horror crowned with a woman’s face of cold beauty, yet marred by the monstrous mouth yawning from her stomach, forever gnashing, forever starving.

Betrayer of the Abyss, Enemy of Avernus

Unlike most of her kind, Zugot Moi never bent knee to the Demon Princes. She studied them, tested them, and in time grew to loathe their endless war against the devils. To her, the Blood War was not purpose—it was distraction. She believed the greatest prize was not Avernus, nor the Abyss, but the Material Plane, where mortal souls offered unending renewal and where the Weave itself pulsed like a river of untapped power.

Her hatred of Avernus grew fiercest toward Zariel and her legions, whose martial order opposed Zugot Moi’s designs. Where devils sought contracts, Zugot Moi sowed rot; where they built fortresses, she raised cults that worshipped her maw as the end of all creation. In secret, she cultivated a prophecy: that if a Solar, purest of celestial guardians, were sacrificed within her coils, Zugot Moi would rise beyond demon or devil and ascend as an unstoppable force of dominion.

The Eternity Tree and the Cult of the Goathead

Across planes and centuries, Zugot Moi’s cult spread in shadows. Her followers, cloaked in black, whispered prayers of consumption and blood. They sought the Eternity Tree, a mystical anchor of life itself said to predate the gods. Beneath its radiant boughs, Zugot Moi intends her great ritual: the bleeding of a Solar, bound in chains of infernal and abyssal iron. There, she will forge a new weapon—an unholy convergence of her hunger with the lifeforce of the divine.

Her maw has tasted many offerings—kings, prophets, and even rival demons—but none have been enough. She waits, hungers, and schemes, her bleeding eyes fixed upon the heavens.

Nemesis of the Heroes

Where mortals despair, heroes rise—and Zugot Moi has found her opposition. Four stand against her:

Severian

The half-human warrior of shadowed lineage, who wields a blade once blessed by a Solar Zugot Moi seeks to destroy.

Eigar

The dwarf cleric, sworn to protect the Eternity Tree, whose prayers clash against the whispers of Zugot Moi’s cult.

Krait

The halfling druid, attuned to the wild essence of the Weave, who senses the corruption of nature each time Zugot Moi devours another soul.

Steve

The half-orc sorcerer, marked by visions of Zugot Moi’s maw, destined either to thwart her ascension—or become fuel for it.

Viviano

[ENTER VIVIANO]

To Zugot Moi, they are not enemies but courses in her feast. Their struggle delays her rise, but with every battle she learns more of their strengths and weaknesses. She waits for the moment when the heroes’ courage wanes, when their bonds fracture, and when her hunger can claim them as it has so many others.

Destiny of the Maw

Zugot Moi is not a warlord, nor a conqueror in the traditional sense. She is entropy given form, seeking to devour gods and planes alike until nothing but her will remains. Her ambition to destroy the devils of Avernus is but a stepping stone. The sacrifice of a Solar is but an appetizer.

The true feast lies in the Material Plane, where mortals still dream, hope, and love. For it is those fragile lights that shine brightest when consumed.

And Zugot Moi hungers. Always.

The Prophecy of the Maw

"When the skies bleed and the stars fall silent,
The Serpent of Hunger shall coil around the roots of eternity.
From the womb of shadow she shall rise,
With a mouth that devours the light of dawn.

One Solar shall be bound in chains of blackened flame,
Its wings torn, its halo drowned in the blood of sacrifice.
With its fall, the heavens shall shudder,
And the river of the Weave shall turn to ash.

The devils of Avernus shall crumble to dust,
Their armies devoured by fire without end.
The Abyss shall kneel, unwilling, yet broken,
And the Material Plane shall be the banquet of the Maw.

Beware the four who rise against her—
Blade, Prayer, Root, and Flame—
For they are named as thorns in her feast,
Yet even thorns may burn in her stomach of eternity.

Thus shall Zugot Moi ascend beyond demon, beyond devil,
A god not of creation, but of ending.
The Maw Eternal.
The Last Hunger."
